NEDA MAKI STUDIO
Fine Art–Portraits–Abstracts
Welcome to my studio.

My art lives at the intersection of realism and fantasy—a space where imagination shapes reality. I’m drawn to bold textures, vibrant colours, and the playful ways they can breathe life into large-scale portraits. Each piece is a conversation between the seen and the felt.

I’m Neda—an artist, academic, and therapist-in-training. I'm currently pursuing a PhD in Medical Anthropology with a specialization in Indigenous health at the University of Toronto. Alongside my research, I'm completing my clinical practicum in Art Psychotherapy at the Canadian International Institute of Art Therapy.

I also teach full-time at Algoma University (in collaboration with Yorkville University) in Toronto, and outside of the studio, I work with children on the autism spectrum at a local therapy centre.

Though academia grounds me, painting has always been my first love.
I welcome all custom painting requests and collaborations.

"In your light, I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest, where no one sees you. But sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art."
Rumi.
